Habakkuk 1:12-2:5 January 23 2010

Habbakuk 1:12-2:5

1.       From verses 12-17, what was Habakkuk sure about God & what still confused him about God's actions or character?

2.    Who or what do the Chaldeans worship? Where did they

place their hope?

3.    To what does Habakkuk compare the Chaldeans and the people

they conquer?  Some of the other prophets paint a similar picture regarding God's judgment of Israel (see Amos 4:2)

4.       This all seem backwards and unfair to Habakkuk. What is Habakkuk's approach to the situation (2:1)?  What does he seem to be expecting according to that last line?

5.    What can we learn from Habakkuk's example in times of turmoil?  Why is it helpful to reflect on the character of God when our circumstances seem to make no sense?
