*Paul and Timothy are writing to the church in Colossae
*Paul wants to encourage and unite the people in Colossae and Laodicea, so that they may know the mystery of Christ – wisdom and knowledge
*Paul encourages them to continue to live their lives rooted in Jesus, strengthened in faith and full of thankfulness
*Focus on Christ and not on human tradition or deceptive philosophy, in Him we have been brought to fullness
*In Christ, we have been circumcised from our self, ruled by the flesh, buried with him in baptism and raised through faith
*Our sins have been forgiven, nailing it to the cross
*God disarmed the rulers and authorities at the cross, when His Son died for us
*Don’t let anyone judge you by human teachings and rules and elemental spiritual forces of the world (eat, drink, religious festival, etc.)
*Don’t be taken captive by philosophy and empty deceit
*Those regulations have an appearance of wisdom, but lack any value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh
It is in Christ that we have spiritual fullness. We should live our lives rooted in Him, walking with Him, and not human rules and philosophy. Stay connected with our Lord, continuing to strengthen our faith.
Dear Lord, please help me to stay focused and connected to You, despite the busyness of life. I want to keep You at the center of my heart and mind. I pray for your help. Please help me strengthen my faith and draw me nearer to You daily. I thank you, Lord, for your incredible unfailing love, patience and grace. Please continue to lead me in Your truth and teach me. I love You and praise You!
