To define who we are and what we do, we as a Children's Ministries team have adopted the following purpose statement:

"To see children come to Know Jesus Christ as Savior, to Grow as members of God's Family, and to Go in service to our Lord."

This can be summarized with the three words: Know, Grow, and Go. We seek to design our ministries as a whole to address all of these areas, with the different ministries emphasizing different aspects.

• Know

  Our Sonshine Company program is designed primarily around Know, with an emphasis on making sure that children have opportunities to learn of God's love for them and His plan for their salvation, all in a fun and exciting atmosphere.

  Some of our Special Events also emphasize Know; for example, events that seek to introduce Jesus to those with little or no church background, and events designed to help children make salvation decisions for Jesus.

• Grow

  To encourage our children to Grow in God's family, we offer many opportunities.

  In Sonshine Company, children learn how to Grow in Jesus as well as how to Know Him through learning God's Word, worship and prayer.

  In AWANA, children Grow through Bible memorization linked with teaching about what these verses mean; and for the older children, teaching on how to begin to relate to God on their own.

  During Fresh Encounter, the children learn how to pray for others and share their faith in God. In Kids Praise, children learn how to use music to praise God.

• Go

  While some adults believe that a person needs to be a teen or older to be of service in the church, it is our belief that children are quite capable of serving God in very significant ways while still young!

  We have many opportunities for children to serve the Lord at Trinity Church. In Sonshine Company the children lead in music, prayer and monthly puppets skits. In the Nursery they assist the lead teachers to care for the infants and toddlers. In Sunday Worship they are helping with ushering and greeting. In Fresh Encounter the children pray for the church and learn the value of interceding to God on behave of the church. The children of Trinity Church support children in Thailand through their tithe and prayers. More Go activities are planned for the future.
