Scripture:

2 Thessalonians 2

Observation:

The day of Christ and destruction of Satan
· The coming of our Lord
· Do not be troubled in mind, spirit, word or letter as though the day of Christ had come
· Do not be deceived
· That day will not come unless the falling away comes first
· The man of sin will be revealed
· Thessalonians were reminded by of these things by Paul
· The lawless one is restrained
· The Lord will destroy the lawless one with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming
· Satan will come with all deception
· God will give a strong delusion so they believe the lie and condemn the ones that did not believe the truth
· Believers should stand fast
· We are bound to give thanks
· Beloved by the Lord
· Chosen for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and by belief in the truth
· Called by the gospel for the obtaining of the glory of Our Lord Jesus Christ
· Stand fast, holding the traditions that were taught by word or letter
· God who loves us and given us good hope and grace
· God comforts our hearts
· God establishes us in every good word and work

Application:

As the Day of the Lord (Jesus’ second coming) approaches I am not to be troubled or deceived by the lawless one (Satan) knowing and having been reminded that when the Lord comes He will destroy the lawless one by His breath and brightness. I am to stand fast giving thanks for I am beloved by the Lord, chosen and called for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and by belief in the truth for His glory. He has given love, good hope and grace and He has established me in every good word and work.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father as I wait for the day you return and destroy the lawless one, please don’t let me be troubled or deceived by Satan. Instead, please give me the power to stand fast and give thanks because I am beloved by You. I am chosen and called. You have saved me and You are sanctifying me by Your Spirit to bring You glory. Continue to give me love, good hope and grace. Continue to establish me in every good word and work. In Jesus name, Amen!

Dear Father,

Please help us, as your beloved and redeemed children, to stand firm together under the umbrella of your love and hope as the assaults of our enemy rain down upon us. May he not steal our hope and joy!
