1 Corinthians 1:1-9

1 Corinthians 1:1-9

  • This letter is from Paul and Sosthenes
  • The letter is to the church in Corinth
  • The Corinth church has been sanctified in Christ Jesus and are called to be saints
  • They have every gift they need from God
  • They are now waiting for Christ’s return
  • Who will confirm their call and make them blameless on judgement day
  • God is faithful and has called them unto himself through his son Jesus the Christ who is their Lord.

What a blessing it is to be in right standing before God! I need to continually rejoice at the miracle that I am made right with God, I am His son, because His love was poured out for me through Jesus who is both my Lord and Savior. No matter what life brings, I can be thankful that God has both completely received me, has given me all I need to make it through this life, and there is a sure hope that what He has begun in me He will complete in the end. Praise the Lord my God!

God thank you for your love that was poured out for me through Jesus Christ the Son. Forgive me for taking for granted the magnitude of your love as well as Your desire to have me draw near to you. I pray that I might fully experience Your grace and peace. Help me take advantage of every spiritual gift You have made available to me that I might serve you till the day that I die or Jesus’ eminent return. Thank you that through Jesus I am made blameless in Your sight. Help me live more and more like the son You see me to be. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
